Katie Hancorn - Circle Arts

I am a professionally trained circus artist and have been in the entertainment field since the age of 5. I began performing with a dance and cheer troupe which started my journey into physical theatre. As I grew up my passion for contemporary arts expanded as did my desire to teach.

Deciding against a degree at UCL I attended Circomedia to follow my dream to run away with the circus. After my first year at circus school I taught at Long Camp for the Arts in the Adirondacks as a circus coach and camp counsellor. Once back in the UK I wanted to continue teaching young people and took up a role as a Circomedia Youth Circus tutor.

Since joining the circus I have performed professionally as an aerialist, juggler and acro base for private parties, corporate events and promotions such as art galleries.

​

I graduated Circomedia this summer with a triple distinction in aerial, acro and manipulation and a drive to inspire others. Circle Arts is my opportunity to get more young people involved in contemporary circus.
